"The NavPilot features the same thoughtful logic that Furuno brought to the award-winning NavNet system. The core of the autopilot is the "adaptive learning" feature. This autopilot not only uses a software algorithm to learn your vessel's handling characteristics, but continues to optimize the stored parameters for vessel speed, trim, draught, tide, wind effects, dead band, and weather. This provides the best handling possible in all conditions. The most advanced features in this autopilot are the simplest concepts. The advanced auto function uses fixed ground tracking to enhance the normal auto mode by identifying a phantom waypoint 100 nm from the current position and steering to that waypoint to counteract the effects of wind, tide, and swell. The FishHunterâ„¢ feature performs a search maneuver around a target identified on either a sounder or radar. Simply mark the target on the screen and send it to the NavPilot. NavPilot will activate the FishHunterâ„¢ mode and steer an orbit, spiral, or clover leaf maneuver around the specified target. This is a great tool for the serious fisherman trying to locate fish. The orbit mode is also invoked when a MOB is received from any navigation receiver. These advanced features are easy to use, and the autopilot operation is simple with one-touch mode selection providing reliable steering and course control. Multiple steering modes are available including "Auto" for fixed heading, "Advanced Auto" for fixed ground tracking, "NAV" from GPS, and "AutoWork" for slow trolling or net towing. All three displays have an easy-to-read, high resolution silver bright LCD that can be used to view rudder angle, heading, highway, compass rose, wind, or customized navigation info. The NavPilot systems are available for both inboard and outboard configurations and with either Type 1 pumps for steering cylinders to 13 cu.in. or Type 2 pumps for steering cylinders to 25 cu.in. Systems ship with the control unit, processor, fluxgate compass, rudder feedback, and hydraulic pump.
