The DSC function has been improved to Class D, providing a continuous monitoring of channel 70 through an independent receiver. You'll receive distress calls even if you're using another channel. No other Icom fixed-mount VHF has as many options for operating your radio or listening to it. Monitor the broadcasts through the built-in speaker; hook the radio to a hailer horn or external speaker and listen to it anywhere on board; or simply use the included speaker mic. Operate the M504 from the generously sized, backlit buttons; the large knobs allow for better control, even in rough seas. A large, menu-driven display allows for more information to be shown with easy-to-see channel numbers and names.
