The Freedom series of automatic rope/chain anchor winches from Maxwell features a new design that automatically feeds the anchor rode into the anchor locker allowing effortless handling of rope, chain, and rope/chain rodes. These winches can be operated from a remote control station with a high speed, jam free retrieval of rope and chain. The RC500 and RC800 transition from rope to chain by means of an innovative, patent-pending tension arm system within a safe enclosed design. These low profile windlasses are sleek and very attractive. The installation is easy due to a simplified two-piece installation without the disassembly of the windlass. The gearbox/motor can be mounted in any of 12 positions under the deck to accommodate virtually any installation. Full disassembly of the top can be accomplished with the included handle and a screwdriver - no special tools required. If there is an electrical problem, the windlass can be operated with the provided emergency crank handle. The heavy-duty, dual direction motor was designed for the demanding application of a marine winch and can be easily removed for servicing. The sealed oil bath and marine-grade alloy gearbox provide a high efficiency output drive via heavy-duty wide-face precision gears. Both the RC500 and RC800 feature a cone type clutch/brake mechanism for manual free fall anchoring. This type of a clutch, unlike a dog type clutch, provides for smooth disengagement, ensuring safe operator control. These windlasses ship with circuit breaker/isolator panel, dual direction solenoid pack, up/down remote control panel, installation instructions, and a template for cutting holes in the deck. 3-year warranty.
