"The Explorer series of chartplotters from Northstar combines all the features you expect from quality chartplotters. Each unit employs the latest WAAS GPS 12-channel receivers and is available with an internal antennas for open helms. Ready to go right out of the box, the Explorer 550i has a 16 MB built-in regional U.S. background chart. Increase the detail of this base map with compatible C-Map NT+ or C-Map Max cartography. The optional fuel kit lets you take the navigational power of these units to the next level with a complete fuel management system that calculates flow rate, total usage, economy, remaining fuel level, estimated range, and even a low fuel alarm. Explorers will interface with any NMEA capable device including autopilots and DSC equipped VHF radios. When a DSC distress call is received, the plotter will automatically display the position on the screen. Ships with bracket, bulkhead flush-mount kit, and protective face cover.
