"Raymarine's Raytech RNS 6 software lets you network Raymarine's E-Series displays and your PC using Raymarine's SeaTalk networking protocol. This simple Ethernet connection between your PC and the SeaTalk Network switch allows you to access and share radar, HD digital fishfinder, charts, and navigation data. RayTech RNS 6 software packages are built around RNS Chartplotting. The advanced RNS packages feature chart rotation of head-up, course up and north up modes. It provides chart transparency control which overlays various chart types including radar with the right interface. It supports raster, vector, 3D and aerial photo charts. Raytech RNS 6 also supports all the major cartography formats available including Navionics Gold, Platinum, and Hot Maps on Compact Flash (optional USB CF card reader required) and C-Map MAX and NT+ C-Cards (optional USB C-Card reader required). Also, Raytech RNS 6 is compatible with Maptech BSB, Softchart BSB, and NDI formatted raster charts. Waypoint and route sharing tools take advantage of the expanded chart compatibility of RNS 6. Plus, the HD digital fishfinding playback feature allows you to "rewind" the fishfinder display so you can analyze the return for future outings. You can even download satellite fishing maps and overlay the sea surface temperature and plankton concentration data on the electronic charts. For the sailor, Raymarine has included navigation and tactical sailing tools that monitor wind, laylines, other boats, and weather to help you make better decisions on the race course. The polar data collection and analysis feature identifies optimum speed and heading for various sailing conditions. The Route Optimization feature identifies the ideal route based on ocean current, wind speed and direction, and your sailboat's polar characteristics.
