Many of these features, like the DSC functioncan, only be found on fixed mount VHF radios. Some features aren't even available on fixed mount VHF radios, such as AM/FM reception. The DSC function of the HX600S is accommodated through the charging cradle which is capable of being connected to your GPS. This enables DSC distress calls to be sent with GPS position, a handy feature if you have to get off your vessel in a hurry. With advanced reception capabilities on FM music stations, AM broadcast band, and Aeronautical band, you can enjoy using the HX600S even when you are not on-board.
