Uniden’s Oceanus DSC VHF radio is designed to withstand the harshest marine conditions and is extremely compact, saving you valuable helm space. Improvements to this already value packed VHF include DSC capability and compatibility with Uniden’s optional wireless WHAM mics. The DSC feature, when activated with the “Distress†key, will automatically broadcast your unique distress signal. If connected with your on-board GPS, the distress signal will also include your position. Compatibility with Uniden’s optional wireless WHAM mics allows you a true, full featured, wireless second station VHF communication from anywhere on-board. The first station “WHAM†mic includes the control unit that connects to the Oceanus radio and operates on a NiMH battery. The WHAM mics duplicate all the radio’s features including DSC. The standard mic includes Uniden’s exclusive “Quick Command Microphone†that gives one-touch control for frequently used channels and emergency channels. It features all USA, Canadian, International, and weather channels with memory scan, weather scan, weather alert and emergency channel watches. It also offers high (25W) and low (1W) power settings, LCD display and dimmer, backlit keypad, and a Public Address feature with an external speaker jack. The Oceanus gives you Triple Watch Plus which adds a weather channel to the standard monitoring of channels 16, 9, and a channel of your choice.
